Women and Food [Man Talk]
It is reported that Al-Ahnaf b. Qays – Allâh have mercy on him – said:
Stay away from mentioning women and food in our gatherings, for I hate a man to constantly describe his private parts and his stomach. It is an aspect of higher conduct and religiousness that a man [sometimes] leaves eating food while he desires it.
Abû Bakr Al-Daynûrî, Al-Mujâlasah wa Jawâhir Al-‘Ilm 3:44, 45.

One Response to “Women and Food [Man Talk]”
AssalaamuAlaikum, we so much appreciate the reminders we find here on this treasure chest of a site maashaa' Allaah, and jazaakumUllaah khairan. Regarding this post i wanted to ask, whoever can help with an answer, that does this refer to men should avoid speaking about women in general? Am i understanding this correctly? I ask this as my good husband often tells me that when brothers congregate together they will often discuss women and polygany, and i did mention surely there are other things of benefit as such discussion could affect the brothers, especially unmarried ones.
