Three Laughs and Three Tears
It is reported form Abû Al-Dardâ – Allâh be pleased with him – that he said, “Three make me laugh, and three make me cry.
Those that make me laugh are a person who puts his hopes in this worldly life while death pursues him, a person who is heedless [of his Lord] while [his Lord] is not heedless of him, and a person who always laughs while he does not know whether he has pleased Allâh or angered Him.
What makes me cry is being separated from my beloved: Muhammad and his party (the Companions), the horrors of the time of death, and standing in front of Allâh ‘azza wa jall on the Day when the secrets will be revealed and I do not know will I then go to Paradise or Hell?”
Ibn Al-Mubârak, Al-Zuhd wa Al-Raqâ`iq article 250.

Asaylamu alayke warahamatalahu wabarakatuhu, YOUR SITE IS A GREAT BLESSING. MAY ALLAH REWARD YOU. JAZAIKAALLAH U KHEIREN
Wa alaykumus-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Barakallahu feekum. May Allâh grant us all tawfeeq.
Assalaamu 'Alaikum,
Please also include the 'Arabic, especially for those who wish to memorise the quotes.
Wa alaykumus-salam wa rahmatullah.
It would be ideal to have the Arabic, but this is beyond the scope of what I can do atm, due to various design and technical constraints.
Barakallahu feekum.
As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu, May Allah include this momentous deed as the deed that out weighs any and all your sins on that day when there is only accounting and no actions! I would like you to find a quote of Fudayl Ibn Ayyaad if you can. Its meaning in english is An naas the people are mastuuroon during the times of aafeeyah but when the bala trials come they become uncovered. For the mumin he rushes to his eeman but the munaafiq he rushes to his nifaaq!
Wa alaykumus-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakathu,
Jazakallahu khayran, wa baaraka feek. I recently replied to an email of yours about this request. I found similar narrations from Al-Hasan Al-Basri, not Al-Fudayl. Insha Allâh I’ll be posting them soon.
Barakallahu feekum ya akhee if you want the source of the statement in audio the go to salafitapes.com and click on to english lectures and go to Abu Uwais raheemullah and look up the talk of trails and tribulations. The statement is made at between the 7 and 8 minute marker of the talk.
I found the same naration from Salman al-Faarisee saying abaout tears and laughter in the following website: http://www.theclearpath.com/viewtopic.php?t=150. From whom this naration really came from?
A very beneficial website by the way, jazakallah khair
Baarakallahu feeki.
The narration could have come from more than one of the Salaf. There is no reference given for that particular narration on the site you mentioned, but it is possible it was said by Salmân Al-Fârsî too – Allâh be pleased with him. It is definitely reported from Abû Al-Dardâ – Allâh be pleased with him, as in the primary reference I’ve included above.
Alhamdulillah, I found the narration from Salman Al-Farsi in Al-Hilyah of Abu Nu’aym, and Al-Zuhd of Imam Ahmad.
Subhana allah.. Jazakallah khairan. Subhan allah indeed the salafs were the best generation.. Allah hu akbar, May Allah azza wa jal reward them with good.. Ameen.
Selam brother may Allah s.w.t. reward you for making this website

Wa alaykumus-salam,
Barakallahu feekum.
Siyar A’lam Al-Nubala is a massive work and I have never heard of it being translated into English.
Allahu a’lam.
